Advanced connectivity options
For businesses with critical availability requirements and routing control needs
BGP Peering
Full control over traffic routing
We offer BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) sessions for business customers who need complete control over routing. Announce your own IP prefixes, configure custom routing policies, and benefit from protocol-level redundancy.
- Dedicated BGP session with TFiber AS (AS44682)
- Announce your own prefixes (PI or PA space)
- Custom routing policies (local-pref, MED, communities)
- BFD (Bidirectional Forwarding Detection) support for fast convergence
- Session monitoring and automatic alerting
Prefix announcement options toward customer
Choose the level of routing detail received from TFiber on your BGP session
Default routes
A single default route (0.0.0.0/0) — simple and efficient. Ideal for customers who don't need granular routing control.
National + local international routes
Romanian national prefixes + international routes obtained locally from IXPs and peering. Domestic traffic stays on optimal paths, the rest goes via default.
Global BGP table
Full BGP table (~950k prefixes). Complete control over routing decisions, ideal for multihomed customers with their own AS and PI/PA space.
Bidirectional Forwarding Detection
BFD is a fast link failure detection protocol that operates independently of BGP. While a BGP session might detect a failure in 90-180 seconds (default hold timer), BFD monitors link state at millisecond intervals.
Failure detection under 150ms — BFD packets at 50ms interval × 3 multiplier
BGP convergence under 1 second — BFD notifies BGP instantly, triggering route recalculation
Supported on both dual-homed links — BFD on each BGP session, automatic failover to the alternate link
Dual-Homing
Redundancy through separate fiber routes
Maximize connection availability with dual-homing: two independent fiber optic paths, each connected to a different TFiber POP. If one route or POP becomes unavailable, traffic automatically fails over to the alternate path.
- Two physically independent fiber paths
- Connection to different TFiber POPs (e.g. NxData1 + NxData2)
- BFD (Bidirectional Forwarding Detection) on both links — failure detection under 150ms
- Automatic failover with convergence under 1 second (BFD + BGP)
- Ideal combined with BGP multihoming
- Availability SLA of 99.95%+
